CLEARRANGE

Our Story

ClearRange Munitions Response Consulting, LLC was created to make decades of military, munitions-response, project-management, and program-leadership experience available to organizations pursuing and executing complex federal munitions-response work.

After nearly four decades of combined military and civilian experience, Don Shaw founded ClearRange to provide practical senior-level support in the areas where experience matters most: proposal and capture strategy, project and program management, technical documentation, historical site understanding, stakeholder coordination, and safe field execution.

The goal is simple: help clients pursue the right work, understand the project environment, build confidence with stakeholders, and execute complex munitions-response programs safely, efficiently, and successfully.

MILITARY FOUNDATION

American Flag Waving

Don Shaw’s professional foundation was built during 20 years and 9 months of U.S. Navy service, where he served as a Seabee Builder and Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician. That experience established the disciplined, safety-focused, mission-driven approach that continues to define his work today.

His Navy career provided extensive experience in leadership, operational planning, explosives safety, field execution, and mission support in complex and demanding environments. Those years of service built the judgment, flexibility, and accountability required to operate successfully in high-consequence settings and to support clients with confidence.

That military foundation continues to shape ClearRange’s approach: practical problem-solving, disciplined execution, strong stakeholder awareness, and an unwavering commitment to safe and effective mission performance.

CAREER PROGRESSION & PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

From Project Management to Global Navy Program Leadership

Don Shaw entered the civilian munitions-response industry in 2009 as a Junior Project Manager and quickly advanced to Project Manager by the end of that year. In 2010, he assumed a lead project-management role supporting the Former Vieques Naval Training Range, including recurring client briefings with NAVFAC Atlantic, direct on-island project oversight, and long-term program continuity across successive contract vehicles.

Over the following years, his responsibilities expanded to include complex terrestrial and underwater munitions-response work, remote-site logistics, subcontractor and specialty-technology integration, stakeholder coordination, project controls, and senior client interface.

By late 2021 / early 2022, Don advanced to Global Program Manager – Navy, reflecting the broader scope of his leadership across Navy munitions-response programs. His career progression demonstrates a consistent ability to build client confidence, manage complex programs, support successful contract performance, and lead teams through demanding project environments.
